Double Opt-In
When a visitor to a site registers to receive newletters or emails off of the website, they have opted-in once. When a visitor to a site registers to receive a newsletter or email from a website and then confirms by answering an email or clicking on a link from an email, they have opted-in twice. In this situation, the user will only be added to the database if they have confirmed the second opt.
