Google, Inc. is the brainchild of Stanford graduates Larry Page and Sergey Brin, created in 1998 with the idea that search engines should analyze relationships between websites in order to better optimize search results. Although best known for the Google.com search engine, Google, Inc. also specializes in software for information retrieval and online advertising. Google, Inc. is a NASDAQ traded company that offers a variety of amenities through its search engine including Froogle for smart shopping, Google Earth, Google News, image searches, and GMail. Google.com uses its patended PageRank system to organize search engineresults by relevance, the original idea by Google's founders.
