Page Ranking
Page ranking is how high or low on a search engine a web page appears when specific key words are searched. If a website appears on the first few pages of a search engine, it has a relatively high page ranking because of its relatively high importance. PageRank is the page ranking system used by Google, developed by the search engine's founders. Page ranking is important to websites because search engine users tend to only look at search engine results that appear on the first few pages; these websites appear more credible and most related to the topic being searched. Page ranking can be increased through keyword optimization.
