Edward “Ted” Murphy is an energetic, creative individual with a passion for innovation and zeal for change. A serial entrepreneur, Ted has founded six companies since 1994 and has a reputation for disruptive creativity.

Immediately prior to IZEA, Ted founded interactive agency MindComet, the company that created PayPerPost under his direction. PayPerPost was spun out of MindComet in 2006 and later became IZEA.

Ted is largely recognized as the father of paid blogging and the catalyst behind the sponsored conversation industry. Ted raised over $10 million in venture funding for IZEA from leading venture capitalists including Draper Fischer Jurvetson and Village Ventures. Under Ted’s leadership the IZEA network has attracted over 265,000 bloggers and 25,000 advertisers and continues to grow.

Ted’s enthusiasm for the unconventional has earned him the ear of some of the world’s largest marketing organizations including FOX, Bombardier, General Motors, SeaWorld and Disney. His efforts have received international recognition from media outlets including CNBC, Wired, USA Today, Forbes, New York Post, Business Week, PC World, CNN Money, Fortune, Fortune Small Business, Business 2.0 and others. He has also been featured in the Wall Street Journal and New York Times, as well as on E!‘s “The Morning Show”, “My FOX Orlando” and “The Daily Buzz”.

Ted lives in Orlando with his girlfriend, Tara, and dog, Bonzo. On weekends he can be found training for or running marathons. He is active in the Orlando community and supports a variety of local charities including Habitat for Humanity and Rock for Hunger.
